We focus on youth baseball for serious players.
We are both a high performance academy and travel club, run with a positive ethos. We created Monarchs by unifying the best youth baseball coaches in the UK. While we are new as a club, our coaches have a track record of success in Europe and beyond.

John Michalowski
U12 U13
John Michalowski has been coaching youth baseball since he was the player / manager on his U18 travel team. Since moving to London in 2022, he has coached a London-based U12/U13 travel team and for the LYBL Little League. The last two years John helped lead LYBL Little League teams as UK champions to the Europe/Africa LL World Series Qualifier in Kutno, Poland.
Prior to moving to London, John coached U9 travel baseball for two years in Virginia, USA and little league baseball for six years. He is keenly focused on players developing core skills, gaining live situation experience, and having fun while doing it. Baseball has been a significant part of John's life since he was 5 years old and he hopes his players will develop the same passion and love for baseball.

Ian Griebenow
U14 U15
Ian Griebenow is a veteran youth baseball coach and club leader spanning multiple continents over 26 years. His youth coaching career began in Cape Town, South Africa spanning roles from U10 to U23, including as the head youth coach and Vice Chairman for the Bellville Tigers in Cape Town. Ian was the U12 National Team head coach for South Africa where he led the team in 2022 to the WBSC U12 Baseball World Cup in Taiwan.
Ian has a long engagement with MLB's Coaching and Elite Development programs, starting in South Africa and now continuing in Europe where he was selected as a Select Coach for the MLB Cadet Camp in Regensburg Germany. Ian has over 20 coaching certificates from the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina spanning both player and coach development.
Since moving to the UK, Ian has continued his coaching journey in travel baseball, including a victory in the Babe Ruth European Qualifier for U16 in 2024. As head coach for the Great Britain U15 National Team, Ian led the team to the program's first ever tournament victory in the qualifier in 2024. Ian has a long track record of bringing positive coaching to high performance programs and is committed to developing the game in the UK over many years to come.

Kerry Yousey
U16
Kerry Yousey is a dedicated coach and educator with an extensive background in athletics, coaching, and teaching. Growing up in Washington State, he played high school baseball & basketball receiving All-State recognition as a baseball player. Kerry continued his baseball journey at Olympic College, where he earned All-Conference honors.
After completing his undergraduate studies at Western Washington University, Kerry worked in the marketing department at Baden Sports and as a member of the Seattle Mariners grounds crew. He later pursued a Masters in Education from Pacific Lutheran University, launching his teaching career at Peninsula High School, where he taught math, led the boys' basketball program as head coach, and assisted the baseball program.
Kerry’s international career in education has taken him to South Korea and now the UK, where he currently teaches mathematics at ACS International School Hillingdon and serves as a varsity basketball coach at The American School in London. Since arriving in London he has coached youth baseball, traveling with teams to the Czech Republic, Spain and the USA to compete. Kerry believes that team success on the diamond is a combination of preparation, togetherness and the belief that you can achieve.

Jonathan Rodriguez
U18 & Development Lead
With over 15 years of coaching experience, Jonathan Rodriguez has had a significant impact on the baseball careers of many individuals. As the founder, operator, and head coach of the Long Beach Legends in Southern California, Jonathan is dedicated to developing college baseball athletes. Since 2012, the Legends have produced 18 MLB draft selections, more than 30 professional players, and two Major League Baseball players. His coaching journey has taken him across four continents, including extended periods in the United States, Australia, Singapore, and now the UK.
Jonathan holds an undergraduate degree in Athletic Coaching Education, a master’s degree in coaching and sports psychology and is currently pursuing a doctorate in elite sports performance. A qualified teacher in the UK, he has served as a Sports Lecturer in both Further and Higher Education settings, inspiring developing coaches while also focusing on player development.

Ben Thompson, Pitching
Ben Thompson is a former professional pitcher for the Atlanta Braves in their minor league organization. He is also a member of the New Zealand National Team and now resides in London, UK.
Pierre Guillet, S&C
Pierre is a retired USAF military veteran and combat arts specialist, ranging from Boxing to MMA. He has trained and taught strength and conditioning across a wide variety of disciplines over 20 years+ in the military and professionally. Pierre was born in South Korea.
Conner Brown, Catching
Conner Brown is a former semi-pro and MLB prospect catcher and member of the Great Britain National Team from the age of 18. He was a top 50 prospect in Europe at 16 and has played multiple seasons in the highly regarded German Baseball-Bundesliga. Conner was born and raised in London.
